    2017 COLORADO ECONOMIC OUTLOOK

    ABOUT EVENT

    Join DBS for an informative evening with local economic experts.  We will have an interactive panel discussion on the economic outlook for 2017 both here in Colorado and nationally.  Learn how the recent changes in Washington may impact your business and personal economic outlook. 

    PANELISTS

            Dr. Richard L. Wobbekind is Executive Director of the Business Research Division and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the University of Colorado Boulder.  As Executive Director of the Business Research Division his responsibilities include developing an annual consensus forecast of the Colorado economy and performing various economic impact assessments of the Colorado economy. 

      Pam Reichert joined the Metro Denver Economic  Development Corporation (EDC) in 2011 and works on developing the organization's annual strategic plan and budget; maintaining effective relationships with key constituencies including investors, regional economic development associations, and affiliated groups throughout Colorado; expanding industry development efforts through the Metro Denver EDC's industry-focused affiliates; and coordinating prospect recruitment missions both domestically and internationally. Pam holds a Master of Arts in Area Studies from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and French from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

          Jeff Ahbe is founder of the Ahbe Capital Investment Group Inc. (ACIG), and is former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ferrox Holdings Ltd., and former Senior Executive Vice President of Union Pacific Resources Inc.   Jeff has served on public and private boards domestically and internationally. Mr. Ahbe received both his Bachelors and Masters of Sciences Degrees from Purdue University and EDP (Executive Development Program in Business) from Northwestern University’s, Kellogg Business School.   He is also an invited member of the Kellogg Global Innovation Network and is Senior Advisor to Kellogg Alumni Colorado.

          Dr. Jack Strauss won the award for Best Research for Full Professor at SLU’s John Cook School of Business. He was a Fulbright Scholar in the Ukraine and a three-time recipient of the Duke University Sloan Research Scholarship in International Economics.  He joins Daniels from Saint Louis University (SLU), where he was a professor of economics and director of the Simon Center for Regional Forecasting. His research focuses on new forecasting methods and applications, including forecasting housing prices, stock returns and employment growth. 

         Moderator - Vinny Del Giudice is a  Bloomberg First Word reporter and regular contributor to Bloomberg Radio. He covered the economics beat for Bloomberg News from the U.S. Treasury in Washington, D.C. from 1990 to 2012. At Bloomberg First Word, he covers economics as well as the government bond and currency markets.

      LOCATION DETAILS

      The 1700 Club is located on L2 which is accessible via the Bustle Elevators, left of the Lobby Desk.  The elevators will be unsecured to L2 from 6:00am to 7:00pm Monday-Friday.  

      PARKING

        Wells Fargo Center Parking Facility entrance is located at 1700 Sherman St. on the East side of Sherman St. opposite the Wells Fargo Office building between 17th and 18th.  The entrance is labeled “Public and Contract Parking.”

        **Please note that the doors to the Sherman St. lobby will remain open until 7 pm, however other entrances to the Wells Fargo center from alternative streets will close at 6pm.**
